Preparing for phase II/III HIV vaccine trials in Africa

Before performing phase II/III clinical trials in Africa, preliminary studies, including assessment and building up of clinical and laboratory infrastructures, estimates of human immunodeficiency virus incidence, investigation of the background immune response, and evaluation of the cross-clade immune response, need to be done.
