Solidarity at work: recognising the common bonds in a fragmented social labour

The paper explores the relationship between solidarity, social labour, and democracy in dialogue with Axel Honneth’s Der arbeitende Souverän, assuming the insights of Émile Durkheim as a crucial theoretical reference. The text attempts to underscore how the value of solidarity is a fundamental precondition for a fair social division of labour while raising questions regarding the measures necessary to democratise work landscapes. Finally, the analysis urges a deeper exploration of the aspects of group solidarity in the context of social labour.
