Abstract:
The diagnosis of iron deficiency is based on ferritin and transferrin saturation (TfS) in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients, yet guideline thresholds are not evidence-based. Soluble transferrin receptor (sTfR) is one of the best noninvasive tests in patients with inflammation.
