Therapy of noninfectious granulomatous diseases

Chapter
Publication Date:
2010
abstract:
Key Features: Noninfectious granulomatous diseases are a heterogeneous group of cutaneous inflamma-tory disorders that share in common the formation of a noncaseating granuloma. Their etiology and pathophysiology are largely unknown. Because of their relative rarity, there are no or very few randomized controlled studies concerning their treatment. Treatment therefore is largely palliative, based on small series, anecdotal cases and clinician's experience or coincides with the treatment of the underlying systemic disease if any. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
