Through the analysis a verse of the Epistle to the Romans (3.30), this paper aims to discuss the problem of distinguishing within pauline theologico-political horizon, in particular, making reference to the way in which Paul discerns Israel and Gentiles, Esau and Jacob, law and faith, trying to highlight the many difficulties that it im- plies and the effective ‘strength’ of its outcome. In the light of these difficulties, this essay would indicate some directions in terms of which it could be possible to re- think – in a radically different way – the meaning of Paul’s political theology.
