DI RESTA CHIARA

Dr. Chiara Di Resta earned a degree in Biological Sciences (2005) and a PhD in Translational and Molecular Medicine (2008) from the University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy. Subsequently, she obtained a post-graduate degree in Clinical Pathology (2016) from the University of Pavia, Italy. Recently, she completed the executive master's program in Health Technology Assessment (COPHTA XI) at LIUC Business School in Castellanza, Italy.
She currently serves as an assistant professor of Clinical Pathology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, where she is involved in teaching clinical laboratory medicine. Since 2016, she has been a member of the Post-Graduate School in Clinical Pathology and Clinical Biochemistry at UniSR, overseeing several students' thesis works.
Dr. Di Resta's primary research focuses on applying molecular medicine to study inherited diseases, particularly the molecular characterization of unknown genetic cardiac forms. She utilizes advanced molecular techniques and sequencing approaches in post-genomic research to identify new causative genes and mutations. Her laboratory work involves close collaboration with clinicians on molecular and translational research projects, and her findings have been published in relevant scientific journals.
In addition, she has made contributions to the field of Personalized Medicine by actively participating in the activities of the dedicated working group (WG-PLM) of the European Federation of Laboratory Medicine (EFLM).
