TOMAIUOLO ROSSELLA

Rossella Tomaiuolo is Associate Professor at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and Director of the School of Specialization in Clinical Pathology and Clinical Biochemistry.
She obtained the Degree in Medicine and Surgery (1998), the Specialization in Clinical Biochemistry (2002) and the PhD in Biotechnological Sciences (2006) at the University of Naples Federico II. In 2020 she obtained the Executive Master in Management of Healthcare and Social-Welfare Companies at SDA Bocconi.
Her research interests are the development and application of advanced technologies for the molecular diagnostics of hereditary genetic pathologies and human reproduction.
Since the 2003-04 academic year, she carried out teaching activities in the areas of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology in university courses in the medical area.
Her research interests are the development and application of advanced diagnostic technologies for the study of diseases with a high social impact (hereditary genetic pathologies, infertility, COVID-19).
Since 2015 she has been involved in Technology Transfer, as creator and coordinator of the One4Two project, winner of the Female Entrepreneurship Award of the National Innovation Award (2015) and winner of the European EIT-Innostar competition (2016). In 2017 the project was the winner of the Hackathon Merck for health and took part in the X-innovation Summit (Dubai). In 2018, she received the Seal of Excellence and the European Grant Horizon 2020, in the EIC- SMEInst-2018-2020 area.
She has been an invited speaker and author of congress papers in the fields of Laboratory Medicine, Technology Transfer and Healthcare Management. The more than 80 scientific publications are present in the international scientific literature databases and the bibliometric indicators are among the 2% of the most cited scientists in 2021 (doi: 10.17632/btchxktzyw.4)
