The Authors describe the orthodontic use of a fixed mandibular distraction screw and its advantages, which are clearly evident when looked at in the light of the final results. The proposed appliance makes it possible to achieve stable expansion, and is comfortable and safe for patients; the use of laser soldering also makes it biocompatible.
