Hatamizadeh et al. recently reported a lower age-related increase in mortality in elderly kidney transplant recipients (n = 15,667) than in the general elderly population.1 Their analysis of data from the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients data system showed a 75% and 92% decrease in the relative risk of death in kidney transplant recipients aged 65–74 years and 75 years or older, respectively, compared with age-matched groups in the general population.
