Abstract:
contemporary events led to a renewal of the problem of human rights, human life value, immigration policies and European universal culture. This article moves from Arendt’s analysis of the difficulties in human rights: according to Arendt the contradiction between their declaration and facts are rooted in the philosophical abstractness and universality which prevents from grasping the variety of reality. The violence to define what man is leads to a concrete violence, as Agamben explains. A further analysis of Arendt’s idea of world allows to find that her idea of a “right to have rights” doesn’t mean just to have a recognized juridical condition; it also means to actually act and speak in this world. Therefore, Rancière idea of political subjectivation helps to deepen Arendt’s idea of “having a place in this world”.
