Abstract:
Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is a rare cancer typically affects salivary glands. The development of MEC in the context of the thyroglossal duct is a rare finding. We describe the clinical manifestation, histopathological results, and treatment strategy of a 72-year-old woman who was diagnosed with intermediate-grade MEC originating from ectopic salivary gland tissue within a thyroglossal duct remnant.
