A modernidade como teodiceia. Leibniz entre a indiferença e a univocidade de Deus

The article aims to analyze the critical reception of the Cartesian theory of the eternal truths in Leibniz’s thought. His reflection, in fact, can be interpreted as an attempt to deal with both the implications and the possible consequences of Descartes’ doctrine. Besides, if the German philosopher had not critically questioned the premises of the Cartesian theory, he could have never formulate a philosophy capable of justifying the divine power. Because of this need, he ends up limiting the extension of divine power, reintroducing, after Descartes, the univocity between God and the creatures
